What the probability table assumes
For a standard 52-card deck, an unordered three-card hand has 52 × 51 × 50 ÷ 6 = 22,100 possible combinations. This calculation counts 12 valid rank sequences, including A-2-3 and Q-K-A, with four suits. It excludes jokers and special variants.
| Hand type | Combinations | Single-hand probability |
|---|---|---|
| Trail | 52 | 0.2353% |
| Pure sequence | 48 | 0.2172% |
| Sequence | 720 | 3.2579% |
| Colour | 1,096 | 4.9593% |
| Pair | 3,744 | 16.9412% |
| High card | 16,440 | 74.3891% |
A hand probability is not a win probability
The table counts the category in one random deal. It does not model opponents, folding, table limits or information from earlier actions. A rare category can be strong without offering a guaranteed result at a real table.
For a trail, choose one of 13 ranks and three of its four suits: 13 × 4 = 52 hands. For a pair, choose the pair rank, two suits, the spare rank and its suit: 13 × 6 × 12 × 4 = 3,744.

Probability questions
Can a chart predict the next deal?
A ranking or probability chart describes rules and combinations. It cannot identify the next random hand.
Do these numbers apply to AK47?
AK47 introduces wild ranks. The standard-deck category counts above therefore do not describe that variant.
Calculation scope
Original combinatorial calculation for one unordered hand from a 52-card deck. Category order: standard hand ranking chart.
